Ohio State Basketball's Outburst Against Penn State Proves They're a Force to Be Reckoned With

If the Buckeyes' wins over Villanova and UNC weren't enough to sell people on how strong they are, this should be enough to get the attention of their competitors.

After exploding for a whopping 106 points in a resounding victory over Penn State, it's clear that this Ohio State squad is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the 2019-20 season.

They were firing on all cylinders on Saturday. After staking themselves to a six-point lead at halftime, the Buckeyes unleashed to the tune of 60 points in the second half to cruise to their ninth win of the season.

What makes them so scary, however, is their balance as a team. Though Kaleb Wesson led the way with 28 points and 10 boards, the Buckeyes had three other players work their way into the double-digits in points.

They have plenty of scoring options to go to, and nearly all of them are reliable. As a group, they shot 57.4% from the floor, making 14 of their 26 shots from three-point territory.

Penn State isn't necessarily an elite squad, but they entered the game allowing just 61.8 points per game. They're no slouches on defense. The fact that Ohio State was able to decimate them like this is downright terrifying.

And, plus, the Bucks are supposed to be a suffocating defense, mainly...aren't they?

They can win on the back of their defense, which had allowed the fourth-fewest points per game in the nation entering Saturday, or they can shoot the lights out.

This is the potential of this Buckeyes team. If they get on a roll, they can put up triple-digit points with ease, and nobody wants to face a team like that.
