It wouldn't be a 2019 NFL playoff game without some shady actions by officiating. Referee ineptitude has reared its ugly head throughout the year, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that it made an appearance during the AFC Title Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans. With the Titans trying to convert a crucial third-and-one play in the third quarter, the offense was called for holding. Meanwhile, when looking at the video, it appeared the sideline official threw the flag just as the ball was snapped.

What on Earth is going on?

This doesn't mean that the referee threw the flag for holding, necessarily. Rather, he saw something that caused him to reach for his yellow flag right before Tennessee snapped the ball. What that was? Who knows.

Either way, the NFL will have to hold some sort of conference to sort this whole officiating controversy out. Because this is becoming too common of a theme.
