NFL scouts now have the full report on the leaping ability of this year's defensive back prospects. The final vertical jumps conducted among the defensive backs wrapped up on Sunday. In a surprise result, the top performance was claimed by a Division Two prospect.

Safety Kyle Dugger, out of Lenoir–Rhyne, posted a 42-inch vertical jump, for this year's best among defensive backs. Dugger won the Cliff Harris Award as the nation’s top defensive player in Division II last season and flashed at this year's senior bowl. He is projected to go in the fourth or fifth round, but a stellar combine performance might give the undersized D2 safety a shot at making one of those memorable jumps into the second day of the draft.

Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah, who is widely regarded as the best defensive back prospect in the draft and a consensus top-5 pick, came in second with a 41-inch vertical jump. His impressive vertical jump performance actually came in the aftermath of an injury scare after landing awkwardly after leaping for a ball during position drills. Okudah returned to Combine action to post top performances in the vertical jump and long jump.

Georgia Southern's Kindle Vildor came in third, and just barely missed out on the 40-inch mark with a 39.5-inch jump. His vertical-jump performance rounded out one of the more impressive combine showings by the smaller school Atlanta native, as he posted a 4.44 40-meter dash time, 22 bench press reps and an 11-1 broad jump.

Coming in last was Washington's Myles Bryant, who has had a nightmarish combine to this point. As a projected fourth or fifth rounder, he has not helped his case a pro prospect in Indianapolis with a 4.62 40-yard dash time, and the last place finish at the vertical jump will only sink his stock even further.
