We all love when athletes take over social media pages for a day or get mic'd up mid-game because it gives us a glimpse into who they are as both a competitor and as a person.

But a glimpse is all it's supposed to be. Oftentimes athletes are better left to their own devices, especially when it comes to their personal life. That's why Odell Beckham Jr. launching his own YouTube channel is a decision that's bound to end badly.

Beckham promises that the fans will get "a unique off the field look into his life," but that might not go too well. It's far too likely that something could go awry with one of the videos that he didn't intend.

It's a public relations nightmare just waiting to happen. Unless he has someone vetting every single clip that goes up onto that channel, something will inevitably go wrong. OBJ's off-field actions got him on the wrong side of some fans and media in New York, and while Cleveland may not offer the same market there's a similar level of pessimism for better or worse. The minute Beckham makes a questionable comment about Baker Mayfield or the team's play-calling (even if there's no real intent behind it), he's leaving himself open to criticism.

The Browns already have plenty of question marks surrounding how the multiple intriguing personalities on their team will affect the squad next year. While it's all well and good that Beckham wants to give the fans a glimpse of his life, it's just not the best idea. This is the last thing they need on their minds heading into this year.

Beckham would be better off letting his personality on the field be about all the fans get to see. His flamboyant personality on the sidelines and in the end zone is more than enough to keep the fans entertained.
