Novak Djokovic Apologizes After Organizing Tennis Tournament and Testing Positive for COVID-19

Novak Djokovic found himself embroiled in controversy by organizing the Adria Tour, a series of tennis tournaments taking place across Europe. Fans were permitted to attend despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a decision that attracted negative headlines right on cue.
Grigor Dimitrov was among the players to take part, and unfortunately ended up testing positive for the coronavirus. That cancelled the final of the event featuring Djokovic, who ended up testing positive himself. This was a reckless idea by the world's top player, who later took to Instagram to apologize.

At least he has enough perspective to see he was wrong and that he put plenty of people in danger. However, it is still hard to just let this slide after Djokovic clearly didn't see COVID-19 as a legitimate public health issue until it affected him directly.

Both Djokovic and his wife tested positive, so the main concern is that both of them get through this without any issues, and th same goes for all those who unfortunately came in contact with the virus due to the Adria Tour. This whole situation could have been prevented with some common sense, and can serve as a warning to other sports leagues when it comes to adhering to social distancing and the recommendations of public health experts.
