UNC Flips 4-Star Alabama QB Commit and Brother of Former Tar Heels Basketball Star Luke Maye
By Mark Powell

Mack Brown and the UNC football program continue to make the argument that Chapel Hill is a football town.
We kid, of course.
After a surprisingly successful first season under Brown and freshman quarterback Sam Howell, North Carolina is making up some serious ground in recruiting. 4-star QB Drake Maye, previously an Alabama Crimson Tide commit, has de-committed and intends to play for Coach Brown instead.

Standing at 6-foot-5, Maye doubled as a successful basketball player similar to his brother, Luke, who was UNC royalty. Tar Heel fans will be delighted that Drake is keeping things in the family, providing the Heels football program with a quarterback of the future after Howell moves on. While Howell was just a freshman last year, Maye won't join the program until 2021, at which point he'll have his first crack at competing for playing time.
If Drake can have anywhere near the athletic impact his brother Luke made in Chapel Hill, he'll go down as one of the great ones. All told, his commitment is a big win for Carolina.
