None of Yankees' Triple-A All-Stars Got Back in Time for Game the Next Day and That's So Dumb

Major League Baseball is slowly but surely easing their way back from the All-Star break. Teams are given at least two days to get to their respective ballpark for their next series.

The same cannot be said for Triple-A.

The Triple-A All-Star Game took place on Wednesday night in El Paso, Texas, but players had to return to their teams the very next day. As it turns out, none of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders All-Stars made it back in time for their Thursday night game against the Syracuse Mets, leaving the team well short of men, with a pitcher hitting for no reason.

That's right. Ryan McBroom, Mike Ford, Kyle Higashioka, and JP Feyereisen all were unable to make it in time for the Thursday night game, leaving them no choice but to have starting pitcher Daniel Camarena bat in the nine hole. In fact, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre has just one player available on the bench, and that's Billy Burns.

It's not necessarily their fault, as they had to fly from Texas following the conclusion of Wednesday's All-Star Game, and travel all the way to Syracuse, NY in the span of a day. Factor in the weather and flight delays, and that's essentially impossible. But why on earth not schedule another day off?

If Triple-A baseball learned anything this year, it's that they need a one-day cushion between the All-Star Game and the next regular season game, preventing anything like this from ever happening again.
