No, the Steelers Shouldn't Start Devlin Hodges Over Mason Rudolph

Quack quack. Did you hear that? That's the sound of the Devlin Hodges fan club coming after you if you say anything bad about Hodges. And unfortunately, this article might do just that.

There are some Steelers fans who might be calling for Hodges to start over Mason Rudolph for the rest of the season. That's just a bogus call.

Hodges led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 24-17 Sunday Night Football win over the Los Angeles Chargers. It was far from pretty, as Hodges went for 132 passing yards, a touchdown and a pick, but he got the job done.

So now what? It's been suggested that Rudolph may miraculously be able to return Week 8 against the Dolphins, perhaps the perfect matchup for a quarterback looking to regain confidence on the field after taking such a nasty hit.

If Rudolph's able to come back after the Steelers' bye week, there's no question he should be on the field instead of Hodges. Otherwise, Mike Tomlin really might be seeing himself get traded to the Redskins.

We've gotten some really interesting NFL characters this season, from Gardner Minshew to Devlin Hodges. However, only Minshew should be seeing the field again anytime soon, and even his time might be running out when Nick Foles potentially comes back to the field.

That's just how life in the NFL goes.
