No-Nonsense Zack Greinke May Actually Be the Perfect Starter for an All or Nothing Game 7

The Houston Astros, losers of three straight home games in the World Series, are in need of a steady presence to navigate the sea of emotions brought on by a Game 7, and they might have stumbled into the best man for the job in Zack Greinke.

Greinke, who was on the mound for the most important Astros win of the series in Game 3, will get the ball against Washington Nationals starter Max Scherzer in the decisive Game 7.

If you're looking for someone who is all business, look no further than Greinke.

Cole and Verlander, who thrive off their high fastballs, have seen the likes of Juan Soto and Anthony Rendon, who are among the best in the league at hitting those types of pitches, lay waste to their offerings, as the Astros are 1-3 in games started by that duo (What?!).

Preparing for Greinke, a soft-tossing veteran, is like studying for a calculus test, as he can change speeds, pitches, and angles on a whim. That change in philosophy and even-keeled demeanor on the mound could be what Houston needs to finally grab a win at Minute Maid against an ever-yapping Nats ballclub, who often swing out of their shoes when the pressure gets ratcheted up (see runners-on-the-corners, no outs against Cole in Game 5).

Greinke vs Scherzer for all the marbles. This will be one for the history books.
