If you watched the Week 6 edition of Monday Night Football, you watched NFL officials get heavily involved in the outcome, which is exactly what football fans wanted to see (rolls eyes).

During the Green Bay Packers' final drive, Detroit Lions defensive end Trey Flowers was called for an illegal hands to the face penalty on offensive tackle David Bakhtiari. The thing is, Flowers' hands were nowhere near Bakhtiari's mask. Instead, they laid on the tackle's shoulder.

As a result, Green Bay's drive was extended, leading to Mason Crosby's game-winning field goal. It's okay, Lions players and Lions fans, because NFL VP of Operations Troy Vincent said less than 24 hours after the botch that the penalty should have never been called in the first place.

The Lions may not have gotten the victory on Monday, but at least they got an apology. Yay?

Vincent is currently at the NFL owners meetings, and stated his intent to speak with Lions owner Martha Ford and general manager Bob Quinn.

While the penalty stung for the Lions, head coach Matt Patricia won't lament on it, saying he and the team will work on things in their control in order to secure wins.

The Detroit Lions will look to move on from the controversial ending to Monday night's game, as they face the Minnesota Vikings at home on Sunday.
