New York Post Writer Suggests Mets Could Trade Noah Syndergaard After Signing Rick Porcello and Michael Wacha

The New York Mets have made some significant acquisitions during the offseason, but they're also dangerously close to eclipsing the luxury tax.
After signing Michael Wacha and Rick Porcello, the Mets find themselves with six serviceable starting pitchers, which could lead to them offloading one in order to free up some money and remain below the tax.
Van Wagenen has said repeatedly wouldn't trade Syndergaard this offseason. But with the cost of free agent SPs, #Mets could be getting big offers. Or Stroman. Or Matz. They could move Gsellman and Wacha becomes a swingman, but BVW indicated yesterday that Wacha would start

Well, one Mets insider, Joel Sherman, has reported that the Mets could actually end up trading Noah Syndergaard, as he believes they will receive some very enticing offers for the flamethrower over the coming weeks.
Syndergaard is projected to earn right around $10 million this offseason and a trade partner would be banking on getting him cheap for two full seasons.
The Mets' signing of Rick Porcello gives them six starters for five spots, and presumably, they'll either move Steven Matz to the bullpen, and perhaps be open to any trade offers.

It would take a major offer for the Mets to even consider trading Syndergaard, so perhaps it's more likely they deal one of Steven Matz or Marcus Stroman.
Despite Brodie Van Wagenen's insistence that Syndergaard wouldn't be traded, the newly-acquired depth to the rotation could result in a trade coming to fruition. With more and more pitchers signing for new clubs in free agency, don't be surprised if teams turn to the Mets in order to try and facilitate a trade.
