New York Post Picks Bizarre Time to Drop Dumb Pete Alonso Column

Phil Mushnick of the New York Post is a man who has made a career out of racially-tinged shots at players he doesn't like, antagonizing New York radio hosts, and complaining about obscene material in some of the most blatant, almost hilarious examples of pearl-clutching you'll find in print.

Mushnick's latest target was New York Mets star Pete Alonso, whom he called out for using "LFGM" ("let's [bleep]ing go, Mets") frequently in his tweets, citing that as a problem sports has with "vulgarity" at the moment.

This ain't it.

Mushnick's column, which doesn't warrant a click, took shots at "proud family man" CC Sabathia for the use of colorful language on his R2C2 podcast, Boomer Esiason for using "crudity" on his radio show, and Showtime for creating the "All The Smoke" podcast and television show with NBA champs Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson because, in his uninformed opinion, "they had earned very bad reputations and that they often say “motherf—er” and the n-word on the air."

Yes, he really wrote that without a shred of irony.

Mushnick chose to ignore all the charity work Alonso has done and what a genuine, authentically nice guy he is. Because he writes "LFGM" all the time, he is apparently the cause of... all that is wrong in the sports world right now?

Even if you're some sort of biblical messiah who could have forgiven him for all of his past controversies (Mushnick himself using an abbreviated racial slur when discussing Jay-Z's former ownership stake in the Brooklyn Nets standing out as a particular gem), this one should show that he is failing to learn and change his attitude.

Mushnick has convinced himself and others that he is some sort of cultural arbitrator when his columns are so lacking in substance that it's a wonder they even get published at all.
