The Michigan Wolverines are looking to finally find some success against their fiercest Big Ten rivals, the Ohio State Buckeyes. Unfortunately, that was made a bit more difficult when the Buckeyes poached Greg Mattison from the Wolverines and named him the program's new co-defensive coordinator on Jan. 7.

The move was met with some criticism, and even a new Michigan recruit shared his opinion on Mattison's switch to Columbus, taking a shot at the former Wolverines' coach.

"Well, that kinda shows the kinda guy he is, I guess."

Braiden McGregor

Mattison's decision to jump ship didn't impact McGregor's commitment to Michigan, but it certainly left him with a poor taste in his mouth.

McGregor went on to credit Wolverines' new defensive line coach Shaun Nua, who was only hired in January, for securing his commitment to the program.

Mattison, who will replace Greg Schiano at Ohio State, left Ann Arbor for Columbus after having been with the program since 2011. It's easy to understand why McGregor wasn't keen on his decision, and it certainly soured him on OSU in general.

This attitude from McGregor should certainly fire up Wolverines' fans, as you know he will be playing with a chip on his shoulder when the rival sides square off.
