Patriots Reportedly Signing Former Jaguars WR Marqise Lee and Bill Belichick is Lost
By Jerry Trotta

On Thursday, the Jacksonville Jaguars surprised nobody when it was reported that they cut wide receiver Marqise Lee, who had been with the franchise since 2014.
Any team in need of a speedy pass-catcheer would surely take a flier on Lee down the road. For the foreseeable future, however, it was anticipated that he'd remain a free agent... or so we thought. ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported on Friday that the New England Patriots have signed the 28-year-old to a one-year contract.
Patriots are signing former Jaguars’ WR Marqise Lee to a one-year contract, per source. Trade a TE, land a WR.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
This is Bill Belichick's response to trading the recent unretired Rob Gronkowski to Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers? Call us crazy, but it appears as though the head coaching legend is lost.

(AND he no longer has the high ground.)
We mean no disrespect to Lee, but signing him is a perfect testament to Belichick's bundle of underwhelming attempts to upgrade New England's laughable skill player situation.
Trade, pending physical: Patriots are trading TE Rob Gronkowski and a seventh-round pick to the Buccaneers for a fourth-round pick, source tells ESPN.

Lee's most productive season came in 2016, when he posted 63 receptions for 851 yards and three touchdowns. In five years in the NFL, he's appeared in all 16 games just once, and he missed the entire 2018 campaign with a torn ACL.
Belichick and the Patriots are floundering, and it's a strange sight to behold.
