Never Forget Shannon Sharpe Trolled the Patriots in Epic Way During Beatdown of New England in 1996

Denver Broncos fans will be quick to remember the team's dominant 34-8 victory over the New England Patriots in Week 12 of the 1996 season. Stud running back Terrell Davis absolutely gashed New England in this one, totaling over 200 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns. During the drubbing, Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe trolled the Pats and their fans so savagely that it's still considered iconic in NFL circles. The Hall of Famer fake-called the President and instructed him to "call the dogs off" and "send the National Guard" because Denver was making such light work of their AFC rival.

It's absolutely fair to say that New England didn't recover from Sharpe's banter until Bill Belichick and Tom Brady entered the fold four years later in 2000.

Sharpe had another go at the Patriots in January of 2016 when the Broncos toppled them 20-18 in the AFC Championship Game to advance to the Super Bowl. Once again, the eight-time Pro Bowler called on POTUS to send reinforcements.

The "Undisputed" co-host's zinger didn't even blow up in his face as Denver disposed of the Carolina Panthers 24-10 to capture the championship. When it comes to slamming the Patriots, there's no one better than Sharpe. Other than the New York Giants (yes, we went there), nobody can say that they put New England in a body bag on two separate occasions.
