NBC Sunday Night Football to Bring Back Old Theme Song Following Last Year's Disaster
By Sean Facey

It seems that NBC has learned from their mistake.
Following last year's "Sunday Night Football" theme song disaster, the television network is planning to bring back Carrie Underwood and Joan Jett to produce the old and far more enjoyable theme song.
You know it.

You love it.
And you've been WAITING ALL DAY FOR IT. @carrieunderwood and @joanjett are bringing back our iconic opening song this season: https://t.co/CKakj8arWd pic.twitter.com/q5o03f86CE
Underwood, a seven-time Grammy Award winner, will star with the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jett as they present a new rendition of the 2006 version of the opening theme song "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night."
Anything is an improvement from the 2018 debacle. Underwood's "Game On" did little to hype up football fans every week last year. The old song, though, was a massive hit that Underwood sang from 2013 to 2015.
The switch back to the classic hit was hailed as "the perfect way to celebrate the league's 100th season" by executive producer Fred Gaudelli.
Fred Gaudelli knew NBC would have to come up with something grand for this season's "Sunday Night Football" opener given this is the NFL's 100th anniversary. https://t.co/UWowY8sG1C

It's imperative to set the tone right for a television event like "Sunday Night Football." After all, who doesn't want to be super amped for primetime television's top program for the past eight years?
