After a long season of debating who the top dog in the NBA was for the 2018-19 season, the league has done us the courtesy of narrowing the candidacy pool down to just three players.

The finalists for the regular season MVP have been revealed; James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Paul George.

The first two come as absolutely no surprise, as Harden's scoring spree was absurd and unprecedented, while the Greek Freak carried Milwaukee to a No. 1 seed and was prolific every step of the way.

Paul George certainly deserves to have his hat tossed in the ring as well, after a season that saw him average 28 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and a league best 2.2 steals per game. Even if he doesn't walk away with the MVP, he is also a candidate for Defensive Player of the Year.

Harden averaged a league high 36.1 points per game, while knocking down 378 3-pointers at a 36.8% clip. He corralled 6.6 rebounds and dished out 7.5 assists per game as well, carrying the Rockets for the entire season.

All three are worthy candidates for the award, though it will likely boil down to Harden, who is looking to earn the honor a second straight season, and Antetokounmpo, looking to feel that glory for the first time in his career.
