On Thursday, finalists for the series of awards being distributed were announced. The contenders are vying for awards including MVP, Sixth Man of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Player and Coach of the Year.
The big winner of the night is expected to be Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks who has been named one of the finalists for this year's NBA MVP and DPOY Awards, though he faces taut competition in the race for both honors.
