Everybody knows a taunting bat flip when they see one. What about an intimidating home run trot, though? Sure, taking a pitcher deep might call for a toss of the bat or some flexing, but what would it look like if a player obnoxiously celebrated during their trip around the bases? It's not exactly realistic but it's over the top enough to extract some laughs. Could you imagine seeing that in a game? Hopping around and turning second base with a cart wheel is one thing, but locking arms and dancing with the 3rd base coach is just asking for a bench-clearing brawl.
All I know is that recently-retired Brian McCann would not approve.
Bat flips and home run trots cross a line at certain points, but they add compelling emotion to the game thats contributes to the passion baseball is played with nowadays.
