MLB Magic Numbers 2019

With October creeping closer, it's time to take stock of the MLB playoff races and see which teams are closest to finally clinching a spot in the postseason. A magic number represents the amount of wins a club needs and losses by its closest rivals in order to reach the postseason. Here are the biggest contenders' magic numbers:
Yankees Magic Number
The Yankees have CLINCHED!
Rays Magic Number
The Tampa Bay Rays' magic number for clinching one of the two AL Wild Card spots is seven, and they own the tiebreaker over the Cleveland Indians.
Twins Magic Number
Rocco Baldelli's group's magic number to win the AL Central or clinch a playoff spot is three.
Indians Magic Number
The magic number for clinching a playoff spot is six and they'll need some help with Twins' losses to clinch the AL Central.
Astros Magic Number
The Astros have CLINCHED!
A's Magic Number
Oakland's magic number to clinch a Wild Card spot is five!
Braves Magic Number
The Braves have CLINCHED!
Nationals Magic Number
Potential NL MVP candidate Anthony Rendon and the Nationals' magic number both for clinching one of two Wild Card spots is four.
Phillies Magic Number
The Phillies no longer control their own destiny and will need help from the Brewers in order to sneak in.
Cardinals Magic Number
The Cards' magic number is four to clinch the NL Central.
Cubs Magic Number
The Cubs no longer control their own destiny and will need a lot of help from the Brewers in order to sneak in.
Dodgers Magic Number
The Dodgers have CLINCHED!
