Baseball's greatest showcase of raw power is finally here. The 2019 MLB Home Run Derby features plenty of exciting players that are set and ready to mash baseballs for our viewing pleasure. Here are a few predictions on how things will shake out.

4. Joc Pederson and Pete Alonso Advance Past the First Round

Pederson and Alonso are in prime position to make it out of the first round. Though their respective opponents of Alex Bregman and Carlos Santana are worthy adversaries, they don't have the power to match up against the two sluggers.

3. Pete Alonso and Carlos Santana Combine for Over 40 First-Round Home Runs

Alonso and Santana are going to give the crowd something to cheer for early on. The Mets rookie has shown plenty of power, slugging 30 first-half home runs, and his derby counterpart in Santana should have no trouble channeling the energy of the home crowd into his swing. The two are set to put on a fireworks show in the first round.

2. Josh Bell Tops 500 Feet and Defeats Ronald Acuña Jr.

Josh Bell is the only one of the eight participants to hit a home run over 470 feet in a game this year, and he's managed to do it twice. He's displayed unbelievable power this year, and his left-handed stroke will help him be the only player in the field to reach to the 500-foot mark this year on his way past Ronald Acuña Jr.

1. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Tops Josh Bell to Win the Derby

The box score might not reflect it, but Guerrero is the best hitter in this field, and even a guy boasting unbelievable power like Josh Bell can't stop him. He has the highest max exit velocity of the eight participants and a line drive stroke that was meant for the Derby. Videos of him practicing for the event in Toronto only inspired confidence that he'll join Aaron Judge as the second rookie in three years to win it all.
