Among the most exciting honors in professional basketball and football are the "All-NBA teams" and the "All-Pro teams" in the NBA and NFL respectively after the season is over. These teams are decided by fans and selected analysts and writers. The best players from each position are awarded with a spot on either the first, second, or third team in the NBA, and the first or second team in the NFL.

Major League Baseball decided to take a page out of that playbook and debut their inaugural "All-MLB teams".

These All-MLB teams look very similar to the NBA and NFL style, having one player from each position on each team, for a total of two teams.

Many big names were selected to the first team, including the Mets' rookie Pete Alonso and perennial MVP candidate Mike Trout. Surprisingly, Alex Bregman, the American League's runner-up MVP, was placed on the second team behind Washington Nationals' star third baseman Anthony Rendon.

Congratulations to all those players who made the cut, and now back to your regularly scheduled Winter Meetings' programming.
