A Denver Broncos legend is finally returning to the Mile High City. 11 years after Mike Shanahan's controversial firing from the Denver Broncos, the former head coach will attend the team's training camp on Saturday.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, new head coach Vic Fangio was instrumental in bringing Shanahan back, as were John Elway and Rich Scangarello.

Shanahan was a two-time Super Bowl champion as the head coach of the team, a job he held from 1995-2008. After parting ways with the Broncos, he spent four seasons as the head coach of the Washington Redskins before calling it a career.

Shanahan's son, Kyle, is the talented young head coach of the San Francisco 49ers; he surely inherited some of his offensive genius from his father.

Perhaps Shanahan is interested in coming back to the team in some sort of advisory capacity, especially given his experience as the team's Executive Vice President of Football Operations from 2002-2008.

If that's the case, he would surely be a valuable resource for Fangio, a former defensive coordinator and rookie head coach who could benefit from Shanahan's wealth of knowledge and experience.
