Two NCAA powerhouses face off as the No. 3 Michigan State Spartans battle the UCLA Bruins in Game 9 of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, the most appropriately-sponsored college basketball event probably ever.

After losing a stunning upset at the hands of unranked Virginia Tech, Michigan State survived also-unranked Georgia in their second tournament game, 93-85. Cassius Winston's 28-point performance was one of his best this year, but Sparty will have to do a better job of defending guards after phenom Anthony Edwards racked up 37 for the Bulldogs.
Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 17 points, while David Singleton and Cody Riley each added 15 in UCLA’s 74-48 win against Chaminade today.

The Bruins had lost two straight, including a first-round game to BYU, before topping Chaminade convincingly 74-48. UCLA was dominant defensively, allowing only one player to reach 10 points. Offensively, they were very balanced, with four players scoring in double figures. Jaime Jaquez Jr.'s game-high 17 points were part of a double-double with 12 rebounds.
The Spartans are 14-point favorites in their matchup with UCLA.
