Michael Irvin Sends Powerful Message to Cowboys Regarding Dak Prescott Contract Talks
By Jared Kish

Michael Irvin is known for expressing his opinion loudly for everyone to hear, especially when it comes to his former team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Most recently, Irvin stated how he feels about current Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and his ongoing contract talks with the team.
Michael Irvin: “If they don’t pay Dak, we can all pack it up and go home. It’s over. How are you going to get anything out of the other guys if they’re seeing that you aren’t taking care of the top guy? ... You got to be smart about this, and this is a no-brainer.” https://t.co/gJLkQfc9lN

The former Cowboys wideout believes Dak should be getting paid and needs a new contract ahead of the upcoming season. In his recent message, he's calling out Jerry Jones and letting him know that Dak needs more money than Eagles QB Carson Wentz, who just signed an extension.
Irvin is right in stating that Prescott should be paid. He's clearly their franchise QB even though he's not yet among the elite in the league. He's proven to be a leader after clearly revamping the Cowboys offense and has taken the team to the playoffs twice in three years.
He's your guy, or else you're taking a major step back in finding another signal caller to be as effective as he is. Pay him now and trust that he's capable of growing as a player.
Michael Irvin on @1053thefan on paying Dak Prescott over $30 million per year: “Every day (the Cowboys) wait, it’s costing money. This is an asset that’s trending in the right direction. You got to pay him this money. Dak’s agents aren’t gonna let you come in under Carson Wentz.”

Prescott still has to prove he's worth at least $30 million a year but it doesn't mean the Cowboys quarterback isn't deserving of a new contract. He's trending in the right direction and is the future of the Cowboys alongside running back Ezekiel Elliott.
