Mexico will open their 2019 Gold Cup run against Cuba this Saturday June 15 in Pasadena, CA. They look forward to continuing another successful run in the tournament, with an unbeaten streak to begin the year they have lots to look forward to.
After leading Atlanta United to the 2018 MLS Cup with an up-tempo, attacking style, Martino left for the vacant Mexican national team job. Since then, he's won all four of his matches, scoring 10 while conceding only four.

Even though Mexico remains the favorite, El Tri are extremely understaffed. Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez, LAFC's Carlos Vela, and Porto's Hector Herrera are not in the squad.
In addition, PSV winger Hirving Lozano, who has been linked with a move to Italian club Napoli in recent weeks, will also miss the Gold Cup due to an injury.

Even with all of those stars injured, Martino's experience on the touchline paired with their midfield depth should allow them to coast past the Cubans.
