Mets Lineup

The Mets are falling apart at the seams, losers of seven of their last 10 games, and have fallen to fourth place in the division, as well as nine games back of the first-place Braves.

The Mets offense has been carried by rookie sensation Pete Alonso, who blasted his 25th home run of the season on Tuesday night in the loss. Jeff McNeil has also been swinging a hot bat this season, and has been even better of late after returning from injury, with a 1.007 OPS in his last seven games. He will lead off on Friday. Robinson Cano will bat third despite batting .143 in his last seven games and posting a .658 OPS on the season. Jason Vargas will be on the mound, looking to continue his recent hot stretch.

Cubs Lineup

The Cubs are just 4-6 in their last 10 games, but still lead the NL Central by 1.5 games, as the second-place Milwaukee Brewers have lost four games in a row. Chicago's offense has been inconsistent, but they put together a solid effort on Tuesday night. Kyle Schwarber will lead off once again for Chicago, and is slugging .672 in his last 15 games. Javier Baez will bat cleanup, coming off a multi-hit game on Tuesday, while the leading All-Star vote getter at catcher Willson Contreras will bat fifth and look to continue his hot hitting. Yu Darvish will toe the rubber for Chicago, looking to repeat the success he had last time out against the Dodgers.
