Unfortunately for the Glen Ridge police force in New Jersey, officer Charles Roberts was rushed to the hospital earlier this month with the coronavirus. Members of the community have showered Roberts' family with love, and a new member of their support team has gone above and beyond. We're talking about Mets star hurler Steven Matz, who sent Roberts an awesome video to try and boost his spirits.

Matz is as classy as they come. In the video, he not only shows he's rooting for Roberts, but also ends the clip by inviting him and his family to Citi Field for a game down the road. How awesome is that?

While we all wait for the MLB season to get underway, Matz is out here doing his best to cheer on families who are struggling.

Roberts is putting up quite the battle right now, and has Matz and the entire Mets organization behind him. It goes without saying, but keep Roberts and his family in your thoughts during these tough times, Mets fans. They need it right now.
