Things have simply gone from bad to worse for the Washington Nationals. On Friday, it's been announced that the team's series with the New York Mets has officially been postponed due to an increase in positive coronavirus cases.

Opening Day was pushed back for the two teams after the Nats announced two additional players, and likely a third, had tested positive. Now, more testing needs to be done before the players can hit the field.

Thursday's showdown was ready to feature Max Scherzer going up against Jacob deGrom. They're two of the best pitchers in all of baseball.

Things took a turn south earlier this week when Washington first revealed that they'd be without five players for Opening Day due to one positive test and four others being considered close contacts. Since then, their total is now at three players, with a fourth 'likely' to have the virus as well. We'll see when the two clubs can eventually start off their campaigns.
