When New York Mets infielder Jeff McNeil pulled up lame with a hamstring against the Atlanta Braves this month, it looked like his season could be in jeopardy.

Luckily, McNeil's hamstring injury wasn't season-ending and after 10 days on the injured list, he's been activated.

To make room on the roster, the New York Mets designated outfielder Aaron Altherr for assignment. This isn't shocking, as Altherr has appeared in 26 games for New York and slashed just .129/.200/.258 with one home run and two RBI.

Since he's been activated from the IL, you'd have to expect McNeil to be in the starting lineup Saturday night against the Braves.

McNeil, 27, may not have 40 homers like Pete Alonso, but he's been the Mets' best, most-consistent player this season. In 105 games he's slashing .332/.400/.529 with 47 extra-base hits (15 home runs) and 55 RBI.
