The United States women's soccer team is moving onto the World Cup Final following their 2-1 victory over England on Tuesday. Prior to the game, USA fans were stunned to hear that Golden Boot candidate Megan Rapinoe was not starting in the semifinal matchup.
Following the game, Rapinoe told the media that she suffered a mild hamstring strain, but hopes to be ready for the World Cup Final this Sunday.

Rapinoe said the strain occurred during the United States' quarterfinal game against France, in which she scored both goals for the Americans.
During practice on Monday, Rapinoe was spotted with a bandage on her right hamstring. Prior to the England matchup, Rapinoe was a non-participant during on-field warmups.
Megan Rapinoe said she picked up a minor hamstring injury late in the second half against France. She said it’s “not even really a strain.” She said she’s expecting to be fit for the final.

Christen Press earned the start in Rapinoe's place, and she made an immediate impact by scoring the opening goal for the United States at the nine minute mark.
While Rapinoe's absence didn't hinder the USA's chances against England, everyone will be anxiously awaiting her status for the World Cup Final.
