Just days after it was reported that Matt Harvey's professional career could be saved by a move to the KBO, rumors are swirling which indicate that an MLB return is in play for the 2013 All-Star.

WFAN radio host Boomer Esiasion disclosed on his Monday morning show that Harvey has reached out to the New York Mets about a possible reunion. What's even more spicy? The fact that the club is apparently willing to consider it.

Are the Mets really that desperate for pitching depth? Sure, flamethrower Noah Syndergaard underwent Tommy John surgery shortly after the start of Spring Training, but it's not like the team doesn't have reinforcements. New York signed veteran hurlers Rick Porcello and Michael Wacha this offseason. Even without Thor, it's possible that one of them (or Steven Matz) is forced into a role out of the bullpen in 2020.

The answer is no.

That's not even the most glaring problem with a potential reunion. As great as Harvey was early on his career, he's been nothing short of a disaster since the 2015 season. Across the last four seasons, the former No. 7 overall pick has posted a woeful 5.84 ERA and 1.46 WHIP.

Harvey is currently a free agent after brief stints with the Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Angels, both of whom were quick to designate him for assignment. If he couldn't resurrect his career with those respective clubs, what evidence is there to suggest that he could do so in the Big Apple...where his demise originated?

We're rooting for Harvey, but a reunion with the Mets is something we simply cannot get on board with.
