The Boston Red Sox bullpen plan has had its ups and downs throughout an incredibly tumultuous season, but the team's star reliever seems to have had it after the latest cacophonous effort.

Matt Barnes practically threw the idea of a 'pen by committee under the bus after a horrific 8-7 loss to the Blue Jays in which the bullpen surrendered seven runs in four innings of work, highlighted by four straight two-out walks.

Hey, Matt, how you holding up?

When asked if his workload is sustainable, he kept it curt, saying, "We'll find out." Yikes!

Barnes, who took the loss and earned his fifth blown save of the season, has now pitched 33 innings this year and is on pace to finish with nearly 70 innings as Alex Cora's go-to man.

He's been taxed to the limit this year, with nary an idea of when he's set to come in. With multiple injuries to some of the supporting relievers, he's had to make far more appearances than necessary,

As one of the only reliable high-leverage arms on the roster now that Heath Hembree is injured, Cora has had to call on him with great frequency, in any number of innings.

Cracks started to show on Saturday when he allowed two hits, two walks and three runs in just .2 of an inning against the Jays.

Something's going to give. Either the Red Sox will finally add a reliever at the deadline, or they'll continue to ride Barnes and his arm straight into the ground until there's nothing left for them to use.
