Marquez Valdes-Scantling Could Be Biggest Beneficiary of Packers' New Offense

It seems odd that a 6-5, 205 pound receiver with strong hands that can run like a deer would fall to Day 3 of the NFL Draft, but the Green Bay Packers managed to swipe up two of them in USF's Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Notre Dame's Equanimeous St. Brown in 2018.

MVS really showed out in his rookie season, piling up 581 yards and two touchdowns. With new coach Matt Lafleur's offense in place in Green Bay, Valdes-Scantling has been given the bulk of the WR2 reps opposite Davante Adams.

“I think this offense is really catered for a guy like him,” Adams said of Valdes-Scantling. “I think he’s seeing that and he’s recognizing it. We’ve had conversations about it, and I think he’s really starting to understand how this thing works."

LaFleur likes to stretch the field, and Aaron Rodgers, as we all should know by now, likes to chuck it deep. With those two paired together, the results for Valdes-Scantling could be explosive.

He may not be a household name yet, but Valdes-Scantling has more than enough talent to establish himself as such. Pair that with an offense perfect for a receiver like him, and a 1,000 yard season isn't out of the question.
