The Miami Marlins are still reeling after trading NL MVP Christian Yelich away back in 2018. The slugger joined the Brewers and immediately broke out into the superstar he is now. Meanwhile, his absence left a gaping hole in their outfield that they haven't been able to fill since.

Derek Jeter and Co. are hoping their most recent signing will help them gain back some of what they lost in Yelich. According to Jon Heyman, the Marlins have signed veteran outfielder Corey Dickerson to a two-year deal.

Dickerson's contract with the Marlins is expected to be worth $17.5 million over the next two seasons, per Mark Feinsand.

The veteran outfielder has hopped around the MLB for the past few seasons, making stops in Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia after beginning his career in the Mile-High City with the Rockies in 2013. Shoulder and foot injuries derailed his 2019 season, but the left-hander still managed to bat .304 with 12 big flies and 59 RBI in limited action.

Dickerson will likely be given more opportunity in Miami after seeing just 260 at bats in 2019. The 30-year-old adds a veteran presence to the Marlins' lineup, and offers high quality defense in the outfield.
