Monday was a special day for Miami Marlins rookie Isan Diaz. While the Marlins ended up on the losing end, the young second baseman hit his first career home run off New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom, sending his parents into a frenzy.

As it turns out, there are plenty of others who were just as happy about the rookie's first dinger.

Prior to the game, a Marlins fan tweeted that he would buy anyone who retweeted his message a brand new jersey if Diaz hit a homer.

Oh, does this individual ever regret sending that tweet. If we want to get into specifics, this person owes nearly 3,000 people Marlins jerseys.

The Marlins official Twitter account entered the fray, saying that they look forward to seeing this person buy 3,000 jerseys at the team store.

The "#1 Marlins Fan" replied to the team, saying they will purchase the jerseys...only if they're 95% off.

Come on, no reneging on the deal.

Will this individual pay up? The world may never know. But the Marlins are watching. Always watching.
