VIDEO: Mark Richt Thanks Healthcare Workers for Hard Work During COVID-19 Pandemic
By Mark Powell

While we all sit cozily at home, with the only request being that we stay put, healthcare workers are putting their lives at risk on the front lives against the COVID-19 virus. This should not be understated, and many prominent figures, including in the sports world, have taken time out of their quarantine to thank doctors and nurses putting us before their best interests.

Mark Richt, a now-retired former Miami and Georgia college football coach, is beloved in Athens and Coral Gables alike. While this short message may not seem like much to some, the folks in those communities, specifically, could use an uplifting thought at times like these.
COVD-19 has had an extraordinary impact on the sports world as a whole, and while we're all disappointed by the lack of sporting events, Richt and those of us lucky enough to cover these games we hold so dearly understand the importance of social distancing and remaining in our homes.
We live at the beach in Destin Florida now. Today they closed the beaches. It’s kind of eerie to see them empty this time of year. It’s amazing how fragile our world is. We think we know everything but we are helpless and hopeless without divine help from our Lord Jesus Christ!

Someday, sports and modern life will resume, but until that day comes it's best to listen to Coach Richt and take our healthcare professionals seriously.
