Seattle Mariners fans everywhere are hoping that top outfield prospect Julio Rodriguez can be a superstar down the road for the club. It's been a long stretch of misery for fans, as Seattle hasn't made the postseason since 2001. Well, Rodriguez gave everyone in Seattle plenty of reason to be excited, as he drove in a walk-off RBI in a spring training game against San Diego on Sunday.
While it's still late February and the regular season is still about a month away from getting started, Mariners fans will still love seeing this. To make things even sweeter, fellow top prospect Jarred Kelenic was the one who scored on Rodriguez's timely hit.
Both Rodriguez and Kelenic will be two huge pieces of the future for this organization. On Sunday, they stepped up and helped the club take home an exciting win. Let's hope this is only the first time we're able to say that this year for the sake of M's fans everywhere.
