It appeared the top pitcher on the trade market was San Francisco Giants ace and postseason legend Madison Bumgarner, but they are in the midst of an incredible stretch, winning seven straight and just two games back of a Wild Card spot.

With the Giants surging back into postseason contention, there's a real chance Bumgarner finishes the season in San Francisco.

Now contenders will look to their second and third options to augment their starting rotations, and towards the top of those lists has to be Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Marcus Stroman, who is coming off a brilliant start Friday night against the Detroit Tigers.

Even though it was against the rebuilding Tigers, Stroman had pressure to perform, as he was on the road and scouts for teams in the postseason hunt were in attendance.

It didn't faze the 5-foot-7 starter, as he tossed seven shutout inning without surrendering a walk and recorded five strikeouts.

We'll have to wait and see over the coming days, but this could've easily been Stroman's last start in a Blue Jays uniform. He's been a Blue Jay his entire career, so I'm sure it would be bittersweet, but he's putting together a nice season (3.06 ERA over 20 starts) and is being targeted by most teams in contention.

He may not have the name recognition like a Bumgarner, but he's pitched in big games under the light's and isn't afraid of the moment. If he's going to throw like this down the stretch, teams will be falling over themselves to get him.
