The pre-match conversation naturally centers around Rooney coming up against his former club. Rooney, now 34, spent 13 years with the Red Devils and scored 253 goals for them, leaving the team in 2017 to return to boyhood club Everton before a spell in MLS with DC United. Now, he's back in England as a player-coach, donning the captain's armband for the Rams when he takes the field.

The last time these clubs faced off, Derby County eliminated Man United in Round 3 of the Carabao Cup by penalty shootout back in 2018. Now, Derby have their eyes on their first FA Cup quarterfinal appearance since the 1998-99 campaign.
United rarely fall short in this stage of the FA Cup, as they've reached the quarterfinal round in each of the last five seasons. But there's nothing quite like a lower-tier team capturing some magic and pulling a proper English upset -- and nobody knows United quite like Rooney does.
