Man Arrested for Shooting Friend During Argument While They Were Watching Alabama vs LSU
By Jerry Trotta

It would appear that lifelong friendships can be ruined by one scintillating game of football.
On Saturday, LSU ended their eight-game losing streak versus Alabama, defeating the Crimson Tide 46-41 in Tuscaloosa. Well, fans of both programs, two supposed eternal mates, got into an alcohol-induced argument over the game that provoked one of them to shoot the other with a shotgun, according to local authorities of Deschutes County in Bend, Oregon.

The shooter, whose gun was said to be loaded with birdshot, was arrested and jailed for attempted murder, among other charges, and the victim was found with a gunshot wound to the back of the head and neck area. He was subsequently rushed to St. Charles Bend Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, and later discharged.
Authorities are not releasing the victim's name at this time, but disclosed that he's a 40-year-old resident of Biddleford, Maine.

The fact that a little bit (or a lot) of alcohol and a college football rivalry can prompt somebody to shoot a lifelong friend is beyond disturbing and downright terrifying.
We have so many questions, like why did this incident materialize in Oregon of all places? More importantly, however, we are relieved that nobody was seriously injured.
