The MLB has oft been linked with various cities that could play home to a potential expansion team.

Well, Magic owner Pat Williams is expected to put Orlando at the top of the list expansion-worthy cities. The co-founder and longtime owner of the Magic is planning an announcement on Wednesday that sources have confirmed is a push to bring an MLB team to the city.

The Tampa Bay Rays have been a talking point for moving cities, but Williams appears to be more focused on bringing a brand new franchise to central Florida.

Reception to the expected announcement has been mixed so far, with some fans showing excitement for the prospective of a new team. Other fans question the logistical sense of adding of another baseball team in Florida alongside the Rays and Marlins, who already struggle with low fan support.

It will be interesting to see, if and when the MLB does expand, if Orlando can beat out other notable and desirable expansion locations such as Charlotte, Las Vegas, and Montreal.

This isn't the first time Williams has tried to bring baseball to Orlando, but he was unsuccessful in his efforts back in 1990 when he teamed up with Rich DeVos in an attempted bid to land the city an MLB expansion team.

Williams' announcement is expected at 11:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
