Madison Bumgarner's Secret Rodeo Career Getting Laughed off While Yoenis Cespedes Gets Demonized is a Bad Look

News dropped over the weekend that Madison Bumgarner has been secretly competing in rodeos under the name "Mason Saunders." This led to general laughter, and not too much worry about how it could impact his career.

This is a much different tune than how the Yoenis Cespedes discourse has been treated in recent years. Cespedes fractured his ankle last year on his ranch, and the general consensus was that he should not have put himself in such a situation.

Meanwhile, Madison Bumgarner getting tossed around by bulls, while changing his name to protect himself? Big laughs!

The crazy thing is that Bumgarner already had a bad motorcycle accident in the past, and spent his time prior to receiving an $85 million free agent deal competing in rodeos in secret.

Where is the outrage?

Cespedes hurt himself working on his own ranch. Bumgarner is out there like some Wild West cowboy while negotiating a huge new deal with the Diamondbacks.

The double standard here is wild, and shows what some individuals are able to get away with compared to others. Just imagine the reaction if Cespedes has been caught secretly competing in rodeos after already injuring himself on a motorcycle in the past.
