Former Kentucky star and Las Vegas Raiders rookie Lynn Bowden was handcuffed by police in Youngstown, Ohio, as DEA agents searched what was reported to be his house for assault rifles and handguns. However, a member of Bowden's family threw some cold water on the rumors by calling out the reporting.

Bowden's mother, Melissa Phillips, claimed that her son was not arrested despite being seen in handcuffs. The house being investigated is that of Bowden's grandmother, whom Phillips claims has "never been in trouble in her entire life."

The initial report did say that no arrests have been made at the house, but Phillips did confirm that the house Bowden was at was not his.

Bowden, who led the SEC in rushing after being converted from wide receiver to quarterback, is the second Raiders rookie with an unusual incident to his name this offseason, as first-round pick Henry Ruggs supposedly pierced his own leg while helping a friend move.

Bowden is still very much in hot water considering the fact he was associated with a weapons bust, even tangentially, is concerning. Having said that, there's a lot that needs to be clarified in terms of this story.
