LSU Passing Coordinator Joe Brady Returning for 2020 is Underrated Good News

Top programs usually lose their best assistants after any spectacular season, but LSU will hold on to the man most responsible for completely reinventing their offense.

Passing game coordinator Joe Brady will "absolutely" be coming back to LSU next season, which is cause for celebration in Baton Rouge.

Brady, who came to LSU after a year with the New Orleans Saints, has transformed Joe Burrow from an average SEC quarterback into the favorite to go No. 1 overall next year in the NFL Draft. Under Brady's tutelage, Burrow has thrown for 4,715 yards (second to Washington State's Anthony Gordon), and his 48 touchdowns stand as the most in the country and a new SEC record.

While Burrow will be off to the pros, there is no reason that projected 2020 starter Myles Brennan shouldn't be able to follow in his footsteps given the stockpile of talented skill position players around him and Brady once again at the controls.

Brady's time as a head coach elsewhere will come, but he's got the best gig in college football at the moment. Just hang back in the shadows, help orchestrate arguably the most efficient offense in college football history, and rack up the Broyles Awards. Not a bad arrangement.
