LSU head coach Ed Orgeron is sick and tired of the ambivalence surrounding the start of the 2020 college football season, and he went on FOX to profess his love for the game. Orgeron hopes that the 2020 season can get started without too much of a coronavirus-induced delay, claiming that the American people want and need college football on TV during the fall.

While millions of Americans will shriek with glee when it becomes a certainty that football will return in a few months, no one will be happier than Orgeron, who is gearing up for a defense of his 2019 national title.

While Texas governor Greg Abbott thinks that college football will start as originally planned with no restrictions, Michigan president Mark Schlissel is preparing for the possibility that there are no games played during the 2020 season. The SEC, Orgeron's conference, will allow interpersonal workouts at team facilities starting on June 8.

Like many of us across the country, Orgeron wants to see college football played when the calendar turns to August. All we can do is cross our fingers and hope these prayers get answered.
