3 Low-Cost Free Agents the Packers Should Target This Offseason

The Green Bay Packers will look a bit different in 2020 because they will likely have to part with a number of key players from last season in the name of saving a few dollars here and there. General manager Brian Gutekunst might not be able to land some of the big fish free agents this offseason, but he could easily plug up some big holes by signing these three cost-effective players when all is said and done.

3. Colts TE Eric Ebron

Ebron fell off a cliff in his second season in Indianapolis when Jack Doyle leapfrogged him on the Colts depth chart. Even with that, Ebron is an insanely athletic tight end that caught 13 touchdowns for Andrew Luck in 2018. Upgrading from Jacoby Brissett to Aaron Rodgers could be the spark that wakes up the former Tar Heel again.

2. Buccaneers WR Breshad Perriman

On the verge of becoming one of the great busts in recent memory, Perriman found a home as a deep threat in Bruce Arians' vertical offense in Tampa Bay. After averaging 17.9 yards per catch and scoring six touchdowns, Perriman proved that he can be a somewhat reliable target and could add a whole new dimension to the Green Bay offense given his speed. He won't cost much and he'll be a perfect No. 3 receiver for Matt LaFleur.

1. Bears LB Danny Trevathan

Injuries and the emergence of Roquan Smith have pushed Trevathan out of the limelight, but he's a Hoover vacuum cleaner when he's on the field. In just nine games last year, Trevathan managed 70 tackles. The season prior, he picked up two interceptions, two sacks and 102 tackles. A more athletic and more experienced option than Blake Martinez, who is expected to leave in free agency, Trevathan would be an ideal replacement in Mike Pettine's defense.
