23 year-old Josh Caldwell grew up in the Lee's Summit area in Missouri. As a kid, he made regular trips to Arrowhead Stadium to watch his hometown Chiefs. For years he dreamed of suiting up in the red and white through his time at Lee's Summit North High School, Missouri Western State and finally Northwest Missouri State.

Despite being an undrafted free agent out of college, Caldwell finally saw his dreams come true Saturday night. As a long-shot to make the Chiefs' final roster, Caldwell came to play in Kansas City's preseason opener against the Bengals.

“Oh, man. There’s nothing like running out there in Arrowhead Stadium with all those Chiefs fans out there,” Caldwell said. “It’s kinda crazy. Just to have those kids look up to you from Kansas City. Not a lot of people make it out there. Just to show them (that) it doesn’t matter what background you come from; you can make it out.”

Regardless of if he makes the final roster or not, Caldwell's performance Saturday night was one to remember. Not only did he provide his team with their longest offensive play of the night, but he added a touchdown for good measure.

Even though he still has Damien Williams, Carlos Hyde, Darwin Thompson and Darrel Williams ahead of him in the depth chart, Caldwell made a good case for himself with the way he played on Saturday.
