In December, one of the greatest featherweight fighters in mixed martial arts history was dethroned by a feisty challenger. And this summer, he's reportedly going to get his first shot at redemption.

According to The Daily Telegraph in Sydney, Austrailia, Alexander Volkanovski is expected to put his 145-pound title on the line in a rematch against former champ Max Holloway in the headline bout at UFC 251 in Perth, slated for June 7.

Volkanovski, an Australian, made a major statement in the pound-for-pound conversation when he took the fight to Holloway and simply outclassed him at UFC 245 in Las Vegas, taking the result and the championship belt by unanimous decision.

The summer pay-per-view card marks UFC's first return to Perth since hosting UFC 221 there two years ago.

“Perth was an amazing host city to us in 2018, and come June 2020, we’ll be back with a stacked card headlined with a championship fight," UFC president Dana White said on the occasion of the announcement.

Holloway has something to prove after being knocked off his perch so convincingly. To say that he'll have a tall task ahead of him taking on an Aussie in his home country is an understatement.
