Lisando Martinez out for season with broken bone in foot

The memorable first season for Lisandro Martinez with Manchester United has officially come to a close. During the 2-2 draw with Sevilla on Thursday night, the star centre back went down with what looked to be a serious injury. He had to be taken off on a stretcher.

On Friday, it has been revealed that Martinez suffered a fracture of his fifth metatarsal. Just like that, his season is done.

The saving grace here is that a lot of people were worried Martinez tore his Achilles. With this kind of a foot injury, his recovery time will be a lot less. He should be good to go for the start of next campaign.
